Monkey Junction  Wilmington NC is an area that stretches South on Carolina Beach Road ( Highway 421 ). In the past few years this area has experienced a large amount of growth. Both in houses for sale and in commercial such as restaurants and businesses. The name seems to have come from a gas station where the owner had a monkey or monkies. Some of the old stories relay that it was quite an attraction for folks on the way to Carolina Beach NC.
