Small Kitchen, Big Impact! A Rewarding Remodel!

Posted: March 13, 2017 by Bailey Gordon

If you have a small kitchen, if you've thought about remodeling your kitchen or if you just enjoy viewing other people's before and after projects, then you will want to see this transformation!

There's a lot of preparation involved in planning, executing and decorating a remodeled space, let alone a kitchen, which is one of the most important rooms in your home. With endless choices that begin at designing a layout to small finishing touches like paint color and hardware choices (along with everything in between) the constant decision-making process can be a bit overwhelming, but we're about to show you just how rewarding a successful remodel can be!

The weather in Wilmington lately has been a little unexpected and less than ideal, but luckily it has allowed me extra time to research Blog ideas and new social media posts. During my weekly home-related research, I stumbled across the finished product of a kitchen remodel that completely blew me away! In fact, I saw it on Friday and I'm still thinking about it today, after referring to it several times over the weekend in my mind!

Even though this remodel is on a kitchen all the way in Seattle, in a home that I've never been in, completed by a homeowner I do not know, it was so inspiring that it made me reconsider all of my overwhelming preconceived thoughts on all the work involved in a remodel, and instead allowed me some insight into how rewarding the process can be along the way and upon completion!

This particular Seattle homeowner's remodel has left me stunned and happily aware of 3 things:

1. Never underestimate a small kitchen. Large doesn't always mean better and in this case, a smaller kitchen can make a BIG statement when designed and completed correctly!

2. Putting in the time, effort and money for remodeling a space into a room you LOVE, definitely pays off in the end.

And, 3. When in doubt, go for a Dutch Door! Trust me.

So, with all of my excitement out of the way,  I can't wait to share with you this remodel by Melissa at "The Inspired Room" so that you too can see just how rewarding a kitchen remodel can be and hopefully encourage you to see the potential in a room that you may not have been able to see before!

That circular window and the deep farm house sink are to die for! They add so much character and charm to this space!

Adding black cabinet hardware really makes a simple, but effective statement against custom white cabinets!
The horizontal wall detail really gives the illusion of a longer, larger space and custom light fixtures have such a big impact in this small space!

Here's the DUTCH DOOR! Click on the active link to Melissa's Blog above to see this pretty door with the top half open!
A custom wine rack above the fridge? Yes, Please!

It's clear to see why this kitchen remodel has stayed in my mind over the weekend! Hopefully, like me, you'll remember the end result of this small kitchen and just how gorgeous the final space is next time you're considering a remodeling project of your own or when you're trying to see the potential in an outdated space.
